An inquiry on the "meaning of iPad" is a common question among those who are not familiar with tablet computers because Apple iPad was synanimous with a tablet Computer before now.iPad is a Tablet Computer developed and marketed by Apple incorporated. This is a matter of choice, the Wi-Fi model utilises the LAN (Local area Network) technology additional advantage to gain access to the internet and the Cellular model in addition to Wi-Fi uses cellular network to connect to the internet.

Since launch the iPad has seen over four generation with an improvement at each turn. The first generation Wi-Fi and 3G models iPad came with Apple A4 Processor that clock at 1GHZ. The dimension is 956x747x0.50inch. 256MB DDR RAM and high resolution screen display (1024x768p). It has a 10hour Battery life though it depends on the degree of use. The first generation iPad did not have camera.

The second generation iPad was is iPad2. It was an improvement on the first generation of the iPad Tablet. It was officially released in March 2011. It came with a higher configuration hence improved function. Just like its predecessor it came in two models. The Wi-Fi model and the Cellular plus Wi-Fi model.

It has the Apple A5 dual core Processor at 1GHZ greater than that of the first generation. 512MB DDR2 RAM. It has 9.50x731x0.34inch in dimension and it weighs 601g 1024X768p screen resolution. It possesses front and back camera and support video calling. It has a 10 hour battery life.

The third generation iPad is termed iPad3. It was launched in the Month of March, 2012 amidst a great market reception. It came with a superior processor Apple A5X dual Core CPU with quad Core for graphics. 1GB DDR2 RAM and 16GB, 32GB and 64GB internal storage.
It came with a multi-touch screen with a display resolution of a very high pixel density of 2048X1563px. 1080p back camera and a front camera.

It has Bluetooth 4.0. Dimensions include 950X731X0.37inch. Weight is 650g. It got Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n.
The latest Apple Tablet is the iPad Mini. It was released in the month of November 2012.

The durability of iPad Battery life is worth commenting on hovering over 10 hours. Audio play back can go for as long as 140hrs. Well, it is also worthy of note that it can be technically challenging changing the battery of iPad due to the nature of its design.

The Battery life span is nothing to worry about though it diminishes with time process of time. It will stay for a very long time. However there are technical experts who could render the service efficiently and perhaps Apple licensed repair centres.

This could be part of after sales support and warranty coverage. Confirm this from the retailer at the point of purchase.
