Amazon Kindle Fire(wearing a new look)

January 18,2013
Amazon Kindle Fire is a mini Tablet Computer owned and developed by Amazon.com in collaboration with Asus. It made its debut in November, 2011. The Amazon kindle fire was greeted with a high user’s acceptance and relatively high turnover than anticipated. It is today rated as the second best selling tablet after the Apple iPad. Over 7million was confirmed sold as at mid October 2012.

The Amazon Kindle Fire at launch was the Google Android 2.3 Operating System (Gingerbread) The Processor is a Dual Core ARM Cortex-A9 which clocks at 1GZH. The internal storage is 8GB and RAM 512MB. It came with 7inch Multi-touch Screen Display (1024x600p). The display resolution suits its size and its output help it gain top place in the tablet market.

Its immediate successor as result of market performance and acceptance came with an upgrade to further strengthen and compete favourable with the likes of Nexus 7 and the Apple iPad which are its greatest rivals.

The upgrade took the Amazon tablet experience from a RAM of 512Mb to 1GB as announces in September 2012. That means a greater capacity and processing speed that now clocks at 1.2GHZ and the Processor upgrade to Android OS 4.0(Ice cream Sandwich).

The Dimensions stands at 190x120x11.4mm and 412g in weight at launched. The audio and video play back quality is something worth commenting on. One of the prides of the new Kindle Fire HD is the Display resolution at 1280x800 and a pixel density of 216ppi which is unequal with the likes of iPad mini.

Amazon Kindle Fire HD is with Wi-Fi connectivity 802.11 b/g/n. A very high internet speed for browsing. Unlike other Android devices, Amazon slightly modify it operating mode as you are allowed to use Amazon search engine as oppose to Google which many saw as not out of place so long as one is able to sail through and get to desired destination.

The Application on Screen arrangement in terms of the icons is note worthy. It makes room for easy navigation and explicit direction especially with the ability to easily return back to searched items.

Great Access to Amazon Application Store and a lot of relieve for those who have a lot of things to buy from Amazon online store. In addition to this users have access to Amazon Prime, Amazon Cloud etc. An inbuilt application interface that make room for direct access to Gmail, AOL Mail, Yahoo, Hotmail etc.

The Kindle Fire HD is price of $159 is great and a strong competitive factor that gave it market reception advantage far above the likes of its competitors . This is more than the value if offers.

Research showed that is slightly above cost of production. Amazon market intelligence resolved at this selling price with the hope of making up through its Application store subscriptions for those applications that are not necessarily free. This by implication pays off as a result of huge market turnover and performance reports from Amazon.com

What kind of Tablet does you currently possessed? Do you wish to get one? Money may not be your problem but a decision factor.

iPad Mini(what is new)

January 16,2013
iPad Mini is a mini Tablet manufactured by Apple Incorporated. Despite its size, it is another Apple experience worth every bit of moment and money spent on it. With the 7.9inch Multi-touch Screen, dimensions of 5.3x7.8x0.28inch and7.2mm thick. It could be concluded that iPad Mini well suit its size, approximately the size of a human palm.

There may be times when one has to be on the move requiring Tablet functionality, it is just handy to resort to in such circumstances. It does not require looking for a table to place it on before use as other Tablets may require.

Even if it is an experience approximately in comparison with its predecessors especially with respect to the Screen resolution, it still worth its performances and cost of purchase relative to size and what it can do .It has proved that size has nothing to do with performances. The cost of $249 at launch for the 16GB could as well sooth one’s budget as compared with its predecessors.

The Wi-Fi connectivity is twice faster than any iPad experience you’ve ever been exposed to. With the latest version of Apple iOS 6 there is more than enough platform for new features and applications running up to thousands.

It is amazing that one of the unique applications demonstrates human intelligence. You can ask Siri assistance perhaps in finding the best restaurant in town and other question within which answer or a Solution is possible.

iPad Mini Specs reveals same backlight technology as obtainable in iPad past generations. Other features include:

• Face time calling
• 10hr Battery Life
• A5 Chip(Dual Core)
• 16GB internal storage( Wi-Fi version), 32GB and 64GB.
• iOS 6 version
• iCloud
• Airplay
• Airprint
• Safari and Siri
• Display Resolution 1024x768p
• Rear facing camera 5mp
• Video 1080p
• Front camera 1.2mp
• Digital Compass, Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor and three axis-gyro sensor.
• Weight: 0.68 1bs

The iPad mini is an experience worth it if at the moment you have no idea about a Tablet or using the type at the low ebb.

What is the meaning of iPad?

January 05,2013
An inquiry on the "meaning of iPad" is a common question among those who are not familiar with tablet computers because Apple iPad was synanimous with a tablet Computer before now.iPad is a Tablet Computer developed and marketed by Apple incorporated. Although Apple made its debut in the in Tablet Computer over a decade before now, the year 2010 launch of it first generation iPad Tablet brought into prominence Tablet Computer globally and it made Apple household name even to the present.

A Tablet Computer is somewhere in between a Smartphone and a Laptop. Laptop for many years has been the closest with respect to PDA before the advent of Smartphones. A Tablet offers a greater portability as per day to day digital requirement for individuals and corporate bodies. This account for the great success Apple iPad enjoyed at launch and over 3million sold before the first 100 days.

It encompasses facilities that a normal PC operates such web browsing, gaming, e book reader, media player, instant messaging, voice call etc.

The Operating System adopted for iPad is the Apple ios the same platform that run on the iPhone series and iPod. It has the capacity of running its own Applications and that of the iPhone. Touchscreen technology was also brought into prominence on Tablets via the Apple iPad.

The ipad has two basic types, the Wi-Fi and Cellular models. This is a matter of choice, the Wi-Fi model utilises the LAN (Local area Network) technology additional advantage to gain access to the internet and the Cellular model in addition to Wi-Fi uses cellular network to connect to the internet.

Since launch the iPad has seen over four generation with an improvement at each turn. The first generation Wi-Fi and 3G models iPad came with Apple A4 Processor that clock at 1GHZ. The dimension is 956x747x0.50inch. 256MB DDR RAM and high resolution screen display (1024x768p). It has a 10hour Battery life though it depends on the degree of use. The first generation iPad did not have camera.

The second generation iPad was is iPad2. It was an improvement on the first generation of the iPad Tablet. It was officially released in March 2011. It came with a higher configuration hence improved function. Just like its predecessor it came in two models. The Wi-Fi model and the Cellular plus Wi-Fi model.

It has the Apple A5 dual core Processor at 1GHZ greater than that of the first generation. 512MB DDR2 RAM. It has 9.50x731x0.34inch in dimension and it weighs 601g 1024X768p screen resolution. It possesses front and back camera and support video calling. It has a 10 hour battery life.

The third generation iPad is termed iPad3. It was launched in the Month of March, 2012 amidst a great market reception. It came with a superior processor Apple A5X dual Core CPU with quad Core for graphics. 1GB DDR2 RAM and 16GB, 32GB and 64GB internal storage.
It came with a multi-touch screen with a display resolution of a very high pixel density of 2048X1563px. 1080p back camera and a front camera.

It has Bluetooth 4.0. Dimensions include 950X731X0.37inch. Weight is 650g. It got Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n.
The latest Apple Tablet is the iPad Mini. It was released in the month of November 2012.

The durability of iPad Battery life is worth commenting on hovering over 10 hours. Audio play back can go for as long as 140hrs. Well, it is also worthy of note that it can be technically challenging changing the battery of iPad due to the nature of its design.

The Battery life span is nothing to worry about though it diminishes with time process of time. It will stay for a very long time. However there are technical experts who could render the service efficiently and perhaps Apple licensed repair centres.

This could be part of after sales support and warranty coverage. Confirm this from the retailer at the point of purchase.

New Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini (Upgraded to Android 4.1.2)

January 05,2013
Perhaps for those who found Samsung Galaxy S3 a shot above budget at launch and the price variation so far, the New Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini with Android 4.1.2 could be an alternative. The market success of Samsung Galaxy S3 and as Samsung Electronics flagship Phone is nothing to forget in a hurry.

New Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini is the immediate predecessor of the Galaxy S3 it was released in November, 2012 but announced in October same year. It was released with Android OS 4.1. However reports revealed that as at December, 2012 it has been upgraded to Android OS 4.1.2 Shipped to select countries.

The New Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini(Android 4.1.2) has the following Specs:

• 4inch AMOLED Screen Display(480x800)
• 1GHZ CPU Dual Core Cortex-A9
• Compactible with 2G and 3G Networks, HSPA 14.4/5.76 900/1900/2100 ; EDGE/GPRS 850/900/1800/1900
• Android OS 4.1( Jelly Bean)
• Weigh 120g
• Dimension: 121x63x9.9mm
• 1GB RAM
• Connectivity: HSPA, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS
• Storage:8GB and 16GB
• Removable storage: Micro SD: 32GB
• Camera: 5mp auto Focus LED Flash
• Front Camera: 640x480 pixels(VGA)
• Video: 720p
• Battery 1500 mAh

There are close similarity between the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the New Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini. The S voice feature that enables the phone to respond to verbal command is also in Galaxy S3 Mini. Other similarities are Operating System at launch Android OS 4.1 (Jeally Bean).

Samsung Galaxy S3 is also expected to be upgraded to Android OS 4.1.2.
The phone allows you to call a number you just receive SMS from and highlighted contact by just placing it on the ear. Explicit clarity in audio and video recordings playback. The super AMOLED high resolution screen is something to commend relative to the phone’s size.

The size and shape portray that it is a comfortable handset to grab, hold and ease of use. It thickness and plastic chassis depicts is doggedness and ability to survive adverse conditions such as dropping down which is a huge disadvantage of many of the Touchscreens Smartphones.

The front Camera help to know if you are looking at the phone which will make the phone to switch on the back light. The phone vibrates once pick up if there is any notification. I think The Samsung S3 Mini is just a modest departure of Samsung Galaxy S3.

Apart from physical size the major difference in CPU and the clock speed is not much to worry about. 1GHZ CPU is still a very high level spec for most Smartphones on the front line. And apart from theorising, it is pretty a good speed as compared to 1.4GHZ Processor. The storage capacity of 8GB and 16GB is a lot at least for a phone and is worth possessing.

The new Android Operating System(Android 4.1.2) allow screen rotation as against the portrait picture it predecessor assumed. That is each time phone is turned the screen rotate in that same direction, what a great experience.

The question as to whether Samsung Electronics devotion to the New Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini with Android 4.1.2 worth commendation is a matter of personal or individual choices. The global acceptance and the market performance so far is a pointer that it is not a moribund venture.

The room for upgrade of the Android based Operating System which was recently carried out as indicated above is also a pointer to the fact that Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini will survive the test of time.

Samsung Galaxy S3 (Samsung Flagship Phone)

December 03,2012
Samsung Galaxy S3 is a Smartphone designed and manufactured by Samsung Electronics and was released on the 29th May, 2012. It is the immediate successor of Samsung Galaxy S2. More than anticipated, its design, configuration and features show a very wide gap between it and its immediate predecessors. It s slogan goes thus: “Designed for humans, inspired by nature”.

It has continued to receive encomium from the public, its users and top popular Mobile review experts due to the peculiarity of its features and Operating System as compared with it contemporaries or competitors.

Samsung S3 Smartphone release was greeted with a massive reception and sales which could be attributed to a number of factors as will be seen in the course of this review. It was reported that there was over 10 million pre-release orders by about 100 Carriers and over 20 million was sold within the first 100 days of its release. As at 2nd November, 2012 thirty Million units have been sold.

This kind of reception will normally give one the cause to find out why? What are the features that made it so peculiar and credit its manufacturer as the foremost Mobile phone manufacturer as at the time of its launch. This earns it European Mobile Phone of the year 2012-2013 from European Imaging and Sound Association.

The Operating System on release was Android 4.0 also known as “Ice Cream Sandwhich”. However it was upgraded to Android 4.1 also known as Jeally Bean in the month of September, 2012.

Samsung Galaxy S3 has a quad-Core processor and 1.5GHZ cortex-Krait . This informs the no-delay attribute in switching from one application to the other. Off course this is necessary because of its multi-task environment with its ability run a number of applications concurrently. You could be busy with a task why at the same time on the screen watch a movie optimised into the size that allow both application to run same time.

This is why some reviewers refer to Samsung Galaxy S3 as somewhere in between a Tablet and a Smartphone. It has 1GB RAM (International Version) and a 50GB drop box capacity. Its internal storage capacity ranges from” 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. It can accommodate 64GB micro external memory which is about the largest at the moment unlike Apple gadgets limited to internal storage.

It has 136.6mm height, 70.6mm width and 9mm thick. It weighs 133g, 4.8inch AMOLED Screen ( 720x1280p). This dimensions made it slightly wider than Samsung Galaxy S2 whose screen was 4.2inch and also a departure from Galaxy S2 square shape by its diagonal outlook. And it’s kind of high resolution multi-touch screen made room for a clearer hovering around and at an angle that made visibility as good as a Minicomputer or a Tablet.

Samsung Galaxy S3 has a rear camera of 8mega pixel and on the front 1.9mega pixel. The Video is 1080p. It has 4G LTE support and active noise cancellation with dedicated Mic. The Battery life is fantastic at 2100mah.Came with SNS integration, TV-out via MHL H/V Link.

An amazing unique feature of eyes tracking that is the light stays on when you look directly at the screen and it automatically dial the number once selected and put on the ear. This is made possible through proximity sensor and detection. This also informed the reason why it vibrates when pick up indicating that there is a notification.

Despite that it is available in more than six colours; the Pebble Blue Colour is in a very high demand more than anticipated especially in the US. Other colours include Marbel White, Garnet Red, Saphire Black, Titanium Gray and Amber Brown.
Samsung Electronics is accused to have violated two of the patent right of Apple Inc, by the design of the Samsung Galaxy S3. And as a result Apple has requested the court in charge of the existing lawsuit against Patent right violation between it and Samsung to include Galaxy S3.

Feel free to make your comments. How would you rate Samsung Galaxy S3?

How to use Wi-Fi on BlackBerry Smartphone

November 08,2012
One of the many privileges of the BlackBerry Smartphone is Wi-Fi connectivity which can be used for surfing the internet instead of the 3G network without incurring cost for data usage. Many users have acclaimed this to be faster and able to access bigger files than the 3G network.

The Wi-Fi is a term used to describe devices that are certified and enabled to exchange Data with other Wi-Fi or internet enabled devices using radio waves or with wireless connection within Wi-Fi network coverage areas. This also includes high speed internet connection. This is why Wi-Fi is interchangeably used for wireless local area network (WLAN) as defined by the Wi-Fi alliance.

The following are the steps required to use Wi-Fi on BlackBerry Smartphone:

1. Go to menu Click on manage connections and highlight the Icon for Wi-Fi connection.
2. Click on the icon next to Wi-Fi, this will turn it on.
3. Click search for available Wi-Fi network within the range of the location.
4. When the network of choice is highlighted, a password will be requested if it is a secured network or network that need authentication.
5. Enter the network password to gain access to Wi-Fi.
6. If you wish to select a network without authentication, that is a public Hotspot, select show open networks only.

If successful, Wi-Fi icon will show on the Home screen instead of EDGE.
If this is not working, make sure your “default browser” is change to “Hotspot Browser”. This will help to automatically connect to Wi-Fi when the network is detected.
